This course offers an immersive exploration into Orton-Gillingham structured literacy instruction. Over several days, participants delve into the science of effective reading instruction, incorporating the latest brain research insights. The program covers techniques for identifying struggling readers and individuals with dyslexia, essential diagnostic procedures, and systematic language structure. It also introduces the core components of the Slant System™ approach. Additionally, participants will learn about the content, planning, and implementation of a typical Orton-Gillingham lesson. Live online courses meet for 16 hours and 3-4 additional hours for quizzes, processing, and implementation practice.  Both physical and downloadable materials are included.

The primary objective of the Slant System™ Foundations course is to equip educators with a comprehensive understanding of the Orton-Gillingham multimodal structured literacy approach—to equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact in literacy instruction.
