Course Objectives
The primary objective of the Slant System™ Foundations course is to equip educators with a comprehensive understanding of the Orton-Gillingham multimodal structured literacy approach—to equip you with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact in literacy instruction. Be prepared to implement this system immediately upon completion of this course.

- Dyslexia fundamentals
- Latest brain research
- Reading instruction approaches
- Components of research-based reading instruction
- Principles of Multimodal Structured Literacy (MSL)
- Syllable identification and syllable division strategies
- Components of a Slant Systemâ„¢ lesson
- Lesson planning and implementation
- Basics of structured literacy
- Guidance for implementing Slant Systemâ„¢ as Tier 1, 2, and 3 instruction, and grouping.
