The SLANT System for Structured Language Training® is a research-based, multisensory, structured language training program combining professional development for teachers and systematic curriculum materials for students.

The SLANT System's® professional development program is based on the latest scientific research in the field of reading instruction. The program is supported by systematic and explicit teaching materials that incorporate multisensory instructional techniques and emphasize the structure of the English language.
The SLANT System's® professional development program is designed to prepare teachers to teach reading, spelling, and writing skills to individuals who have been unsuccessful using traditional approaches, or who are considered "at risk". The SLANT System® and its program materials can be used in Supplementary (Tier 2) and Intensive Intervention (Tier 3) support programs in a Response to Intervention model. The SLANT System® is also effective as a supplement in general education classrooms to help provide balance to a literature-based reading approach.
The SLANT System's® materials follow research guidelines for best practice. SLANT's® instructional content and instructional design follow scientifically based practices and contain the 5 essential components of reading instruction (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) as determined by the recommendations of the National Reading Panel.
The SLANT System® is an effective intervention for both Tier 2 and Tier 3 students.

"I truly think it (my SLANT Training) is the best training I have ever had in my entire career. My most severe students continue to amaze me when they make strides that I didn’t think they would have made before my training."
